There is a virus going around, primarily on off campus student pc's, called the Blackworm virus. As with all virus problems, SafetyNet will be happy to clean their pc. Some students are reporting the virus as a "Blackboard Virus". There is nothing wrong with Blackboard and there is no virus on the system.

For Faculty

ATTENTION: Internet Explorer users [Internet Explorer 7 and newer]

Recently a number of issues have been reported relating to the use of Internet Explorer 7 and Blackboard. Blackboard.com is aware of these issues and has a planned fix in its next version release. In the mean time the Blackboard Administrator is recommending that students use Mozilla/Firefox for discussions, the virtual classroom, and wimba sessions.

Blackboard is offline daily for network maintenance and backup

Information Technology will perform preventative maintenance on network equipment each evening at 7 p.m. This preventative maintenance may result in a temporary disruption in reaching campus resources and the Internet, including BlackBoard. This interruption will be for approximately 20 minutes.
